Peter Bartlett recently joined the club after purchasing this 1971 Corvette Coupe earlier in 2015. It’s a 1971 model (the number plate gives it away), with a 350ci engine coupled to an automatic transmission. The white exterior colour is partnered with saddle coloured interior trim. This car is also fitted with power steering, power brakes, air conditioning, power windows and raised white lettering on the tyres.
Like many Corvettes the past history is not exactly known except that it was sold by Mendenhall GM Dealer in Atlanta, Georgia in 1971. Peter is not sure how many owners the vehicle has had but he has been told that it is two. The car has always been in the drier states and the chassis is not rusty.
As the car was already in quite good condition when Peter bought it he hasn’t had to make any significant repairs and the only work he has undertaken is to give it a good clean and detail, repaint the wheels and under the mudguards as well as reapply some heat proof paint to the exhaust and polish up the stainless and chrome…...if only all Corvettes were that easy to bring up to scratch!
Peter enjoys going on any club cruise or any classic car event for that matter. He is also the proud owner of a 1949 Fiat 500 C Topolino which he has owned for 32 years and personally completed a full ground up restoration on.
